Buzz tells you which commanders people are excited about right now. Use it to find a commander before everyone else does, or to see why a card’s price is moving.
What buzz measures
Buzz is how much people are talking about a commander this week, compared with the last month. It measures change, not size: a commander going from two new decks to ten is buzzier than one that has always had a thousand.
Each commander gets a score from 0% to 100%, made of three parts:
- Social, half the score: talk about it on Reddit this week.
- Market, 30%: its price rising faster than last month.
- Interest, 20%: new decks, price alerts and visits on Icarian.
Scores are worked out every night, so a new commander shows its buzz the day after it arrives. A commander with no score yet says “No buzz measured yet”.
Hot and Trending
- Hot (gold): 70% and up.
- Trending (white): 50% and up.
A commander nobody discusses on Reddit can reach Trending, but never Hot: talk in the wider community is what makes a commander Hot.
Where you see it
- Heating up, at the top of Commanders: up to 12 Hot and Trending commanders, highest buzz first. It shows when no filters are set.
- Commander tiles carry a Hot or Trending tag, and Commanders sorts by buzz unless you choose another order.
- The commander page shows the overall score and its three parts, each with what it measures.
