Your Collection's Value, Day by Day
Icarian now records what your collection is worth every night and draws it as a 90-day chart at the top of your collection page. Foil copies finally count at their foil price and etched copies at their etched price, and finishing a set or list you're collecting now posts to your feed.
“What’s my collection worth?” is an easy question. “Is it worth more than it was last month?” never was. Icarian could tell you today’s number, but nothing remembered yesterday’s. If a reprint knocked $40 off your shelf, or a spoiler sent one of your rares climbing, you found out by accident, if at all.
So we started keeping score.
A number every night
Every night, after prices update, Icarian records one number for every collector: what their collection is worth that day. One snapshot per day, kept for good.
That history drives a value chart at the top of your collection page. It shows the last 90 days, with the change under it: “Up $212 in 90 days.” If your history is shorter than that, the caption says so (“since Oct 6”) instead of pretending you have three months of data.

Hover for any day
The chart has dollar gridlines and dates along the bottom. Move your mouse along the line, drag a finger across it on your phone, or use the arrow keys, and a tooltip shows the exact value on that day. Finding the day your collection jumped takes a second.
The price chart on every card page works the same way now, for each finish and for 7, 30 or 90 days.

Foils count as foils
While building this, we found a bug that had been quietly shrinking collections. A foil or etched copy counted at its non-foil price. Own a foil Merciless Executioner? It added $0.39 to your total instead of $8.45. If you collect foils, your collection looked a lot cheaper than it is.
That’s fixed. Foil copies are valued at the foil price everywhere your collection’s value shows: your collection page, your profile, Market Watch and set pages. It’s the same rule the deck builder already used, so a card is now worth the same amount on your deck and in your collection.
Etched foils got the same treatment a few days later. They used to borrow the regular foil price, and cards that only come etched had no price at all. Now an etched copy is valued at its own etched price, and the card page and buy list show it.
If you own a lot of foils, your collection value just went up. You didn’t buy anything. It was always worth that.
Estimated days
When we launched the chart, we filled in roughly the last 100 days from the price history we already keep, so nobody started with an empty line. Those days are estimates. We know what each card cost on each day, but we don’t know what you owned back then if you’ve sold or traded cards since. The chart draws those days with a dashed line, and the tooltip marks them Estimated. Every day from launch on is the real thing.
Finish a set, tell your friends
Finishing a set is the moment collectors actually want to share. Now Icarian shares it for you.
When you complete a set or a list you’re collecting, a milestone posts to your profile and your followers’ feeds: “Completed Bloomburrow,” linked to the set page, with the set’s cover art. It only counts goals you chose. Owning every card in a set you never targeted posts nothing. And it posts once. Trade a card away and pick it up again, and nobody gets a second announcement.

Privacy
Your chart is yours. When someone visits your public collection, they see the shape of the line and the change, but not the per-day values or the tooltip.
