Keep Your Collection in Sync

If you’re like most Magic players, your collection lives in more than one place. Maybe you use Moxfield for deckbuilding, Manabox for scanning new pickups, and Icarian for tracking what you actually own. The problem is keeping them all in sync.

Until now, importing into Icarian meant adding every card in your export file. Import the same Moxfield CSV twice, and you’d have double the cards. Not ideal.

Sync Mode: Import What’s Missing

We’ve added a new Sync to collection import mode that solves this. Instead of blindly adding every card, sync mode compares your import against what you already own and only adds the difference.

Here’s how it works:

The matching is precise: set code, collector number, and finish (foil, non-foil, etched). A foil Sol Ring from Commander Masters is tracked separately from a non-foil one.

Sync mode never removes cards. If your Icarian collection says you have 18 of something but your import only shows 17, we keep the 18. This is intentional.

The Workflow

The intended use is simple:

1. Manage your collection wherever you prefer (Moxfield, Manabox, wherever)
2. Periodically export a CSV from that tool
3. Import into Icarian with sync mode enabled
4. Only new acquisitions get added

No more mental math. No more “did I already import this?” No more duplicate stacks of basics cluttering your collection.

We support exports from Moxfield, Manabox, MythicHub, and Icarian Mobile. The import page shows exactly which columns each format needs.

The Escape Hatch

Sometimes you just need to start over. Maybe you imported the wrong file. Maybe your counts got hopelessly out of sync. Maybe you just want a clean slate.

We’ve added a Delete All Cards option in Settings under a new Danger Zone tab. It does exactly what it says: removes every card from your collection.

This is a destructive action, so we’ve added safeguards. You’ll see exactly how many cards will be deleted, and you have to type “DELETE” to confirm. Your binders, decks, and price alerts are preserved. Only the card data gets wiped.

It’s not something you’ll use often. But when you need it, you’ll be glad it’s there.
