Asking for and Giving Feedback

Post your deck link on Reddit and the advice comes back as scattered comments you retype one by one. On Icarian, people suggest swaps right on your list, you see where they agree, and one click puts a suggestion into your deck.

Asking for feedback

  1. Open your deck, pick Tools, then Ask for feedback. The deck needs a commander first.
  2. Write the brief:
    • What do you want help with? One or two sentences. This is the only required field.
    • Goals: any of cheaper, lower bracket, stronger, more on-theme, more consistent.
    • Target bracket: Any, or 1 to 5. Helpers see it next to the bracket we count.
    • Budget per added card: in dollars. Leave it blank for no limit. Cards over it can’t be suggested unless you already own a copy.
    • Cards that won’t change: helpers can’t suggest cutting these.
    • Your playgroup: optional.
  3. Pick Ask. If the deck is private, the button says Publish and ask: asking publishes the deck so anyone with the link can see it.

You then get the deck’s link, a title and a ready-to-paste Reddit post, each with a Copy button. The post carries your whole brief as text, with card names in [[Card]] form, and the link last. r/EDH help posts are text posts, so paste it as one.

A deck has one open request at a time. Edit the brief or close the request from the deck’s Feedback page (Tools › View feedback). Unpublishing the deck closes its request too.

Giving feedback

On a deck marked Wants feedback you’ll see the brief, a Checkup of its ramp, draw, removal and wipes against our guide ranges, and marks on the cards others have already suggested.

  • Cut a card from the list, or search to add one. Search offers only cards in the commander’s colors and, when the owner set a budget, cards at or under it (or ones they already own). Cards already in the deck show as unavailable, and cards the owner owns are marked Owned.
  • Give each swap a reason (up to 200 characters). A suggestion holds 1 to 15 swaps.
  • While you build it, you see its impact: what the adds would cost the owner, how many of them they already own, the bracket and role counts before and after, and the deck’s size.
  • Tap a card’s mark to see what others said, with reasons on both sides. There you can Agree with a cut or an add, or say Keep it about a cut. You get one reaction per card, which you can change or remove.

You don’t need an account to build a suggestion. Copy as Reddit comment gives you a formatted reply to paste on Reddit. To send it to the owner, pick Sign in to send. Your draft is kept while you sign in or sign up.

After you send it, you can still change it until the owner accepts or dismisses it. You’ll get a notification when they accept it.

Reviewing suggestions

You get a notification for each new suggestion. Your deck’s Feedback page shows:

  • The tally: every card suggested for a cut or an add, with the Agree and Keep it votes, and the reasons on both sides when helpers disagree.
  • Each suggestion, newest first, with its impact.

Accept puts the adds in your deck and moves the cuts to Considering, so nothing is lost. Your deck’s history names the helper. A swap your deck has already caught up with is skipped, and a cut of a card you’ve since said won’t change isn’t applied. Undo reverses an accepted suggestion while the request is open, leaving alone any card you’ve changed since.

Dismiss hides a suggestion. The helper isn’t told.

If a suggestion breaks the Code of Conduct, pick Report on it. See Reporting and Blocking.

Closing the request ends new suggestions, Accept and Undo. Its suggestions stay on the Feedback page to read.
