Icarian’s community runs on the Code of Conduct. If someone breaks it, report it. If you’d rather not hear from someone, block them.
What to report
Report anything that breaks the Code of Conduct: insults, slurs, threats or hateful content, spam and scams, sharing someone’s private information, or a deck described as something it isn’t.
You can report:
- A comment: Report comment in its ⋯ menu
- A published deck: Report deck under More actions on the deck’s banner. A deck report covers its name, description and primer.
- A swap suggestion on your deck: Report on the suggestion, on your deck’s Feedback page. A moderator can remove it, which takes it out of your tally; its author isn’t told.
Sign in, say what’s wrong in a sentence or two, and click Send report. You can report each thing once. The person you report isn’t told who reported them.
What happens next
A moderator reads every report against the Code of Conduct and decides once for everyone who reported the same thing.
For a comment, the moderator can:
- Remove it. It shows Removed by a moderator for everyone, and its author is told why.
- Remove it and disable the author’s account. A disabled account’s comments, profile and decks are hidden.
- Leave it up.
For a deck, the moderator can:
- Unpublish the deck. It becomes private, and its comments, likes and place in the feed are hidden. Nothing is deleted.
- Unpublish only its primer. The deck stays public.
- Unpublish the deck and disable the owner’s account.
- Leave it up.
You’ll get a notification either way: “We removed a comment you reported”, “We unpublished a deck you reported”, “We unpublished a primer you reported”, or “We reviewed your report” if it stayed up.
If your deck or primer is unpublished
You’ll get a notification with the reason, and your deck (or primer) page shows it too. You can still edit, brew and play the deck, but you can’t publish it, or the primer, again until a moderator restores it. If a moderator restores it, you’re told, and it’s public again if it was public before; a deck you had already made private stays private.
Blocking someone
Block someone from your conversation with them: open the menu in the conversation’s header and choose Block. To unblock, use the same menu or the Unblock button in the conversation.
A block works both ways. Neither of you can:
- Message the other
- See the other’s comments and replies, or reply to them
- Get comment or reply notifications from the other
- See the other in the community feed
- Like the other’s decks or see each other’s Follow and Message buttons
Blocking doesn’t remove existing follows or likes, and both of you can still see each other’s profiles and published decks.
